By investing in the sustainable economy you are investing in one of the fastest growing sectors of the world economy, and this helps shift to a low carbon economy and helps fight the Climate Change Crisis.
Mark Carney warns of stranded assets: As Governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney has warned, “the key danger is that changes in policy leave oil drillers and coal miners with stranded assets — reserves that have little value because the fight against climate change will require them to be left in the ground” – Yet many Canadian Investors are directly or indirectly over exposed to this risk.
CoPower study: A recent study by CoPower found that one of the largest contributors to our personal Carbon Footprint may be the way we invest our savings for retirement. Depending on how much we have invested and how those funds are invested, the findings suggest that the Carbon Impact of our investments could be much greater than that of heating your home, driving a gasoline car or taking a long haul flight.
