The Blazers scored first in this one, but it was all downhill from there as the Spokane Chiefs (36-21-3-3) beat the Kamloops Blazers (13-45-2-3) 9-4 Sunday night. KEHLER OUTSTANDING AS BLAZERS WIN 3-2 IN SEATTLE

The Kamloops Blazers (13-44-2-3) rode the back of 16-year-old goaltender Cole Kehler as he made 33 saves and three more in the shootout to give the Blazers a 3-2 shootout win in Seattle against the Thunderbirds (37-19-2-3). The Thunderbirds scored 6:14 into the game to take a 1-0 lead as Shea Theodore’s point shot found its way through a maze of bodies. HOME HEAVY SCHEDULE ENDS: The Kamloops Blazers are into their 33rd season in the Western Hockey League and the 30th season as the Kamloops Blazers. The Blazers have a 12-44-2-3 record through 61 games. The hockey club just completed a home heavy stretch as they played 14 of 16 games on home ice between January 11th and February 15th. POULIOT SENSATIONAL IN 4-2 LOSS TO WINTERHAWKS

Bolton Pouliot was the game’s third star with 42 saves as the Kamloops Blazers (12-44-2-3) lost 4-2 to the Portland Winterhawks (44-12-2-3) on Friday night. The Blazers scored first in this one as they converted on a turnover by the Winterhawks. The Storm clinched the overall league championship on Saturday night.  The Storm with 81 points could not be caught in the overall standings. A win on Saturday in Lillooet just added icing on the cake.  The Storm hosted the 100Mile House Wranglers in Lillooet as a neutral site game. Week in Review: Friday, February 14, 2014 vs. Portland Winterhawks – 7-4 Loss The Winterhawks shot out to a 4-0 lead after the first period and cruised to a 7-4 win over the Blazers. The Kamloops Blazers (12-43-2-3) were outmatched in Vancouver as they lost 7-2 to the Giants (28-23-7-3) on Sunday night.  The first 10 minutes of the game were fairly even with both sides looking tired playing their third game in as many nights. KAMLOOPS STORM WIN 4-1 OVER REVELESTOKE GRIZZLIES The Kamloops Storm (40-8-0-1) beat the Revelstoke Grizzlies (8-38-0-4) 4-1 on Saturday night at home.  Josh Rasmussen opened the scoring for the Storm with a short handed goal assisted by Rourke O’Briain.
