Tonight!! The Kamloops Venom begin their first round playoff schedule at home to the South Okanagan Flames at 7:30p.m. at Memorial Arena in Kamloops. The Venom are coming off of a 7-7 tie in Vernon on Saturday night in their last regular season game, which clinched first place in the TOJLL and secured home floor advantage throughout the playoffs. The Kamloops Venom didn’t win their final regular season game last night (Saturday) in Vernon, but they didn’t lose the game either. As the Venom tied the Tigers 7-7 in the battle for first place in the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League. Kamloops opened the scoring early in the first period and the two teams traded goals until Kamloops scored late to lead 3-2 going into the middle frame. BLAZERS SELECT MICHAEL FORA IN CHL IMPORT DRAFT Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers used their final selection in the 2014 CHL Import Draft to select 1995-born defenseman Michael Fora from Switzerland. Fora played for Ambri-Piotta U-20 team this past season. BLAZERS SELECT PATRIK MAIER IN CHL IMPORT DRAFT Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers used the 6th overall pick in the 2014 CHL Import Draft to select 1996-born defenseman Patrik Maier from Slovakia. The soon to be 18-year-old played this past season with the U-18 Team Slovakia. He recorded a goal and nine points along with 172 penalty minutes in 38 games this season.   Maier also played for his country at the U-18 World Championships held in Finland this past spring.
