The Kamloops Blazers (13-44-2-3) rode the back of 16-year-old goaltender Cole Kehler as he made 33 saves and three more in the shootout to give the Blazers a 3-2 shootout win in Seattle against the Thunderbirds (37-19-2-3). The Thunderbirds scored 6:14 into the game to take a 1-0 lead as Shea Theodore’s point shot found its way through a maze of bodies. HOME HEAVY SCHEDULE ENDS: The Kamloops Blazers are into their 33rd season in the Western Hockey League and the 30th season as the Kamloops Blazers. The Blazers have a 12-44-2-3 record through 61 games. The hockey club just completed a home heavy stretch as they played 14 of 16 games on home ice between January 11th and February 15th. Bolton Pouliot was the game’s third star with 42 saves as the Kamloops Blazers (12-44-2-3) lost 4-2 to the Portland Winterhawks (44-12-2-3) on Friday night. The Blazers scored first in this one as they converted on a turnover by the Winterhawks.
