Privacy Policy

The purpose of this privacy policy is to help you understand how KamloopsCity.com collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you provide to us on our web site.

INFORMATION COLLECTION:
When you browse the KamloopsCity.com website, you do so anonymously. We do not collect personal information without first requesting your permission-- including your e-mail address. We do log your IP address (the Internet address of your computer) to our web server so that we can track monthly user trends and preferences. We do not link your IP address to anything personally identifiable. The only other information automatically provided to us is the type of computer and operating system you are using. Your browser supplies us with this information.

INFORMATION USE:
When you create an account on KamloopsCity.com you are asked for an e-mail address for the sole purpose of lost password retrieval. The collection of e-mail addresses is not for the purpose of sending you unsolicitated e-mail.

We do not share your profile information with anyone outside of KamloopsCity.com.

DISCONTINUE RECEIVING EMAILS:
Since we have never and quite likely will never send you e-mail for any purpose other than a password retrieval initiated by you, we don't have a system in place for you to opt out of our non-existant mailings.

CHILDREN:
KamloopsCity.com does not solicit data from Children. We encourage parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to participate in the interactive activities offered on the sites their children visit. No information should be submitted to, or posted at, the KamloopsCity.com web site by visitors under 18 years of age without the consent of their parent or guardian.

POLICY CHANGES:
The KamloopsCity.com privacy policy is subject to change at any time and without notice. Please check back for updates. Our policy regarding sharing your information or information misuse (spam) will not change.

English Translation

INFORMATION COLLECTION:
The program that sends you the web pages is called the "web server". Whenever you connect to the internet you are assigned a unique number called an "ip address" so that web servers know where to send web pages that you want to see. Web servers by default make a note of your ip address, what pages that you viewed, your operating system, and stuff like that in a log. There is not reasonable way to determine who you are by your ip address without some legal 'hoohah' that would probably cause a lot of headaches.

If you supplied KamloopsCity.com with your e-mail address, it's still way too much trouble to obtain anything personal. Even if we linked your e-mail address to your ip address and made an evil database of your browsing habits, I can't think of a use for that evil database other than being a huge waste of time.

INFORMATION USE:
The only real use that we can see for collecting your e-mail address would be to send you spam or to have a system in place that would send you your password if you forget it. To date we have sent a total of zero spam messages. Our future plans for spamming you don't exist. You will never ever ever get spam from us.

We do not share your profile information with anyone outside of KamloopsCity.com because that's just stupid.

The staff of KamloopsCity.com dislike unsolicited e-mail (spam) just as much as you.

DISCONTINUE RECEIVING EMAILS:
Since we have never and quite likely will never send you e-mail for any purpose other than a password retrieval initiated by you, we don't have a system in place for you to opt out of our non-existant mailings.

CHILDREN:
Would you let your child walk down an alley filled with prostitutes and drug dealers? The internet can be just as nasty with so much bad content that you absolutely must monitor your child's web browsing habits. KamloopsCity.com attempts to keep our content clean and friendly but cannot guarantee that all of our content is kid safe. We do not solicit data from Children.

We might change this for the purpose of covering our own butts.
Our policy regarding sharing your information or information misuse (spam) will not change.

If you're paranoid, then just don't create an account and we won't have a lick of your info.
