The Kamloops Community Volunteer Services Society (dba “Volunteer Kamloops”) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for citizens of our community by providing ongoing support and encouragement to individuals as they seek ways to become actively involved through volunteering, and to member agencies that rely on volunteers to deliver their programs and services.
CFBX is a campus-based community station, and as such, it generally adheres to the policies, ideas and ideals of other campus stations, coast to coast. To make a long story short, CFBX is an alternative radio station that specializes in local programming and offers music and spoken-word shows that are normally not heard on private stations.
Our mandate is to provide support and assistance, to the best of our ability, to any person with a disability, however we do have a special interest and expertise in those with physical disabilities. We are committed to working in partnership with other service providers to meet the needs of all.
The BC Cowboy Heritage Society was incorporated on June 5, 1996 with the objective to promote, encourage, establish, conduct and operate events and activities relating to the preservation of cowboy heritage in BC while fostering and developing community interest.
Our volunteer riders are proud to have served our community and its visitors since 1992. We have extended a warm western welcome to many hundreds of thousands of guests stopping in Kamloops.

Formed Tony Robertson's Vaqueros and released a CD "Boogieman" in 1997, 10 original songs. Tony has worked hard to pick up the authentic Louisiana stylings of John Lee Sanders and has played on most of Sanders Western Canada dates including The Maple Ridge Blues Festival and The Salmon Arm Roots & Blues 2008. Sanders is another LJB cohort, about 20 years, thus the connection was immediate. Wicked band. Tickets available at the door. Call 250-372-9901 for more information.
