Café Journal is a bi-weekly publication created for the city of Kamloops, BC, with the intention to entertain while waiting for your meal at a restaurant, sipping your coffee at a coffee shop or waiting in a hotel lobby. The Business Face of The Week, Wealth is a Choice, Thoughts to Feed Your Mind, and Curiosities, are just a few of the topics that are featured in Café Journal.
The BC Cowboy Heritage Society was incorporated on June 5, 1996 with the objective to promote, encourage, establish, conduct and operate events and activities relating to the preservation of cowboy heritage in BC while fostering and developing community interest.
The Outreach Centre is home to a variety of services here in the heart of Kamloops. We are open five days a week to the public from 9am to 1pm.
The AIDS Society of Kamloops (ASK) is a local agency that is dedicated to helping those in need in our community. The mandate of ASK has broadened to include providing awareness, education, advocacy, housing, and support related to HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, marginalization and persons at risk, in order to develop healthier communities.
The Downtown and North Shore Echo newspapers are published by Edge Publishing Inc, which is a Kamloops based business owned and operated by Wenda Noonan. Edge Publishing is located in the historic Fuoco building on Victoria Street, downtown Kamloops.

2009 is the 26th year of the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts, featuring over 100 artists from throughout the Shuswap and surrounding areas. This week long event hosts several artistic workshops, live entertainment, a marvelous children’s day as well as a spectacular gift shop including a huge selection of fine art with a price range to suit to everyone. Most of the 300 or more pieces of 2 and 3 dimensional art and photography in the show are for sale as well. Come spend an art filled day or evening in the air conditioned comfort of the Memorial Hall in Sorrento and enjoy lunch or a piece of lovely homemade pie in the tea room hosted by Woman’s Institute of Sorrento. The show runs from July 11th to the 19th from 11am to 7pm except Sunday the 19th, when the hours are from 11am to 4pm, Children’s day will be Wednesday the 15th from 10am to Noon. Admission is charged for the show and workshops. There is no charge to browse the gift shop.
