The Downtown and North Shore Echo newspapers are published by Edge Publishing Inc, which is a Kamloops based business owned and operated by Wenda Noonan. Edge Publishing is located in the historic Fuoco building on Victoria Street, downtown Kamloops.
Since 1957, the BC Paraplegic Association (BCPA) has been a vital link to the community and successful independent living for thousands of people with spinal cord injuries. There are over 5000 people living in BC who have a permanent spinal cord injury that affects every aspect of their lives. Over 400,000 British Columbians have a disability that affects their mobility.
Java Mountain News is the only solely owned and operated newspaper on the Kamloops North Shore. Java Mountain News is an entertainment newspaper in Kamloops, published on Fridays and is distributed to cafes, coffee shops, medical offices and virtually any place that has a waiting area for its clients.

Chase RCMP investigating shooting at Lee Creek area home one man injured


The Chase RCMP are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning at a home in the Lee Creek area near Chase BC. The victim, a 59 year old man remains in hospital care and is listed as in stable condition at this time.

Blazers Pick Up Where They Left Off


The Blazers have returned from the Christmas break and continued their good play with key division wins over the Vancouver Giants and Prince George Cougars and points in 3 of their 4 games.

This weekend the Blazers travel to Prince George for a 2 game set with the Cougars. The Cougars were at ISC Sunday night and fell 5-0 to the Blazers with Cole Cheveldave getting his 2nd shut out of the season and 18th win. Proposed Valleyview Secondary School Hockey Canada Skills Academy For 2012-2013


Valleyview Secondary School is beginning a process of inquiry and development for a proposed "HOCKEY CANADA SKILLS ACADEMY" for the 2012/2013 school year and is seeking input with regards to interested players. The academy would provide an opportunity for elite level coaching/training for the student-athlete while continuing with their regular course studies at VSS.

Public skating and drop-in hockey rates for 2012 In Kamloops


Kamloops, B.C. – Heading into the New Year, the City of Kamloops is introducing minor increases in the pricing for public skating and drop-in hockey for 2012.

Under the new pricing as per the Recreation Fees, Charges, and Regulations By-Law, the following are examples of 2012-2014 rates (including applicable taxes):

Youth (4-13) from $3.25 up to $3.50
Student (14-18) from $3.75 up to $4.00
