The Kamloops Art Gallery is delighted to announce its first exhibition of the new decade: Along Those Lines brings together two bodies of work exploring use of line by Kamloops-based artists Myrna Giesbrecht and Meg Waterous. It runs in The Cube from January 16 to March 21, 2010. Myrna Giesbrecht’s Lingering Lines series explores line, colour, form and texture through a variety of textile techniques. These works are presented like paintings, mounted on canvas stretchers and hung on the gallery walls. Megs Waterous’ Path of a Line series consists of ceramic wall-mounted sculptural forms and vessels. In these works she emphasizes flowing lines and a relationship to the human body. The artists utilize diverse materials to explore the creation of line.
